Walnuts, known as "Akhrot" in Urdu (اخروٹ), are one of the most nutritious dry fruits in the world. Its shape is just like the human brain; therefore, it's also called brain food. Walnuts are usually covered with a hard shell which are somehow unable to break easily and needs tools or a hard instrument to break, but some types of walnuts are easily breakable with a hand, they are known as (kagazi walnuts) in Pakistan. • Sometimes available in border areas and local markets.
• Similar in look to desi walnuts but often drier and cheaper.
