Dried cherries are basically a dehydrated version of fresh cherries. Dried cherries are mostly used in different cookies, muffins, scones, quick breads, and fruit loafs.
In Pakistan, Gilgit-Baltistan is the hub of fresh cherries. The peak season of fresh cherries is in June and July. Though the whole Gilgit Baltistan is the hub of cherries, including Chilas, Khaplu, Shigar, Kharmang, Chitral, but the most famous and abundant places are Hunza and Skardu. The quantities of cherries in these regions are greater than in others.
After the season ends, the locals process the fresh cherries and convert them into dried cherries. The process is very simple. They use the sun-dried method to dry the cherries without using any chemicals. So, the cherries will remain Organic.
